National Retail Company: Demand Planning and Inventory Optimization Project


Business Challenges

The global supply chain’s planning processes were inefficient and broken. The corporate office had no real time data or visibility of inventory in the stores and could not react to catastrophic events in a timely manner.


Our Approach

We conducted design sessions to understand the business requirements such as determining job lots, commercial business customers, seasonal items, new/exit items, presentation minimums, vendor managed inventory, live goods, millworks, weekly reports, and performance metrics.


What We Accomplished

We translated all business and functional requirements into technical requirements for the software development phase and created a business model that integrated forecasting, replenishment, and planning and store operations business units.
