Business Challenges

The current supply chain process at this business was ineffective leading to lost sales, declining market share, and revenue leakage. There was no backorder process and there were no systems or applications to track backorders. Demand planning accuracy was at 50% which led to issues with safety stocks and finished goods availability. Furthermore, the stock levels were inefficient and there were too many changes in the production planning process.

 

Approach & Recommendation

A supply chain assessment was completed, along with a list of recommendations and next steps. These next steps included implementing a robust sales and operation planning process and implementing a demand planning tool.

 

Results

We worked with the client to develop the business case for program implementation and managed two vendors to execute the program. Once the business case was approved, we were the program leads for the sales and operations planning process implementation and Demantra application enablement. Key accomplishments included developing robust key planning processes for demand, S&OP, procurement, inventory, and production. We developed and rolled out a new backorder process, improve demand planning accuracy, and implemented Demantra AFDM and DM modules across all product families.
